2010 GRAND NATIONAL GOLF DAY ON SATURDAY 10TH APRIL

The event will be a Texas Scramble (4 person team) competition with a maximum of 20 teams, open to any combination including members and guests.,p> The competition will be a shotgun start at 11.00am (race starts at 4.15pm) and will cost £10 per person (includes a beef bap).

There will be additional competitions and prizes on the day.

Entry sheets will be placed in the men’s changing room, behind the bar and in the golf shop. Please try and make every effort to bring either 1, 2 or 3 guests and support this event as all money raised will go towards helping the golf club.

On behalf of everybody at the club we would like to thank Dave Malcolm & Tony Fox (ART Builders) for the work that has been carried out in the Mens & Ladies Changing rooms, especially the Mens shower room. Once again thank you very much.

05-03-2010 - OPEN GOLF DAY ON SATURDAY 3RD APRIL 2010

Once again we will be running The Open Golf Day on Saturday 3rd April. This is a great way for the club to promote itself by offering a FREE round of golf and to sell the reduced membership fee for new members. Can we all make a huge effort to promote this day to anybody you know who would be interested in playing on this day and may consider joining the club.

Congratulations to the ladies on winning their Mail on Sunday match 5 -3 against Bridgnorth at home and to Margaret Ratcliffe & Hilary Fowles on winning their Daily Mail Foursomes match 8 & 6 against Hawkstone Park at Home. Best of luck to both teams in the next round.

12-02-2010 - Annual Draw for Car Park Space

Once again we will be making a annual draw for the car park space next to the Hon. Treasurer's. The cost of this will be £5 with all funds going towards the golf club. The draw will be made after the Spring Shotgun (Mick Doggett Trophy) on Sunday March 28th at about 2.00pm.

The entry fee for competitons will increase by 50p from Saturday 13th February for weekend competitions and Thursday evenings.

Congratulations to Jonathan Gidney on winning The County Championship at Chesterton Valley Golf Club. He beat Nigel Chesters in the final on the 21st Hole. This now means that Church Stretton Golf Club has the Mens & Ladies (Isabel Green) County Champions which is a remarkable achievement for a small club like ours.

The Golf Club are introducing New Tee Marker Signs. We will require each sign to be sponsored at a cost of £100 for 18 MONTHS from January 1st 2010. (22 markers will be needed) You may like to choose a certain hole, if a hole is over subscribed we will draw for that hole. The New Tee Marker Design and list for each hole will be put on the notice board in the foyer to the clubhouse from Friday 24th July 2009.
