Dear Members,
It is with great sadness that I must inform you of the passing our dear friend and member, Ray Poiner, who passed away on Tuesday night.
Ray had been in poor health for some weeks. Our thoughts go out to Ray’s family at this sad time, especially wife, Mary and daughter, Sharon who let us have the sad news earlier today.
Ray was a long standing member of our Club, joining in whole heartedly both as a friend to many and golfer in both Club and Senior sections. He served as both Club Captain and Senior Captain and worked tirelessly for the good of the Club. Perhaps nothing typifies Ray’s spirit better than the Ray Poiner Pots, a team competition that Ray instigated, bringing all sections of the Club together, it was truly loved by many of us. All in all, our Club meant a great deal to Ray as he did to us.
Please join me in remembering Ray with affection and gratitude for all he gave to our Club. We will, of course, let members have the funeral details when available.
