Book Tee Time
If you do manage to avert your gaze from the views you will find bracken and heather-lined fairways that snake among hills and cavernous valleys, leading to undulating, tricky greens that will ask tough questions of your putting stroke. Church Stretton doesn’t rely on freakish length or huge carries off the tee to give it teeth – the spectacular natural landscape gives it all the bite it needs.
The sandy soil and excellent year-round drainage means the course is a pleasure to play all year round. Many of the golfing Press have also come along to see what all the fuss is about. Todays Golfer, Golf Monthly and others have heaped praise on this “unique gem” and a recent course review described Church Stretton as “a spectacular golfing experience that anyone who loves the game should play.”
But don’t take our word for it – the only way to truly experience all that this unique course has to offer – is to come and play.
What Our Visitors Say
We take great pride in delivering an exceptional golfing experience. But don’t just take our word for it—here’s what our visitors have to say.

Some father and son told me that after my round apparently they do it all the timePosted on Mikael Wood20 December 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very warm welcome from the pro, explained the course layout and holes. The day we played it was raining but this did not detract from this unique course with panoramic views of the Shropshire hills - would highly recommend and will return. Great value too.Posted on O C16 December 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fabulous golf club! Stunning golf course, huge changes in elevation but worth it for the amazing views. Pro and members were very friendly to visitors. Enjoyed the food and beer after the round. Will be backPosted on Martin Dimbleby8 November 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just played 18 holes here today with my Son. Booked online the night before £60 total for the both of us. Arrived and went into the pro shop. Now reading some of these reviews I really wondered if I was at the same place because the service, politeness and advice was second to none. This was exactly the same experience I recieved in the clubhouse. Absolutely first rate. When it comes to the golf course... Picking up the card and looking at the yardage draws you in, short par fours and par threes...be warned this is a course protected by elevation and very clever use of the landscape. It requires some serious course management. The greens are firm, the fairways tight thanks to the free roaming sheep, the views are just to die for. It is a lovely experience. My only comment would be that some of the on course signage could be improved. But this is a minor point. Go, be prepared to be challenged, note the lay of the land on the back nine holes as you go out and have a super day. We did.Posted on simon ferrington29 September 2025
